This is an excerpt from "My Story", which will be published in its entirety in the the book.

This is my story....

It was around midnight that my husband sat up in our bed & told me that he was having an affair. Since it was the evening of December 30th, technically it was on New Year’s Eve of 2004. Just 11 days before our 18th wedding anniversary.  Confusion and disbelief is what I felt when I told him to get out that night. He grabbed a few of his things & left. The next day was agony as I Never Heard A Word From Him… I was numb & in shock. I called our friends to cancel our plans we had with them for New Year’s Eve & explained the reason why… They were in shock. I called my best friend at work & asked her to cancel my appointments.

Then I waited & waited & waited for him to call. Finally, by that afternoon I was such a total wreck that my best friend insisted that I call him and ask him to talk. He agreed to come home & talk to me.

When he finally arrived I asked him if he wanted to be with her… His answer was “I don’t know”. So I asked him if he wanted to stay with me & try to work things out. His answer was still “I don’t know”.  I started the conversation by asking him about the affair & how long it had been going on. His explanation was that he had been seeing this woman over the summer and that they quit seeing each other until he received a text message from her at Halloween. The text message was “BOO”. At the time I didn’t even know HOW to text message someone!

I later found out that he had actually stopped to see her to make sure that he comforted her before coming home to me…He actually said to her that he was going to “Give his marriage a go”. Then he would get back to her.  According to my husband she said to him “I respect your decision”)!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!!!
